Please note, the camera is called Ihagee Exakta, but does not come as you would expect from Dresden (GDR), but West Berlin (Germany).
For young people, an historical reminder:
In 1945, the Allies divided the defeated Germany. Until 1949, this share amounted to four areas: English, American, French and Russian. Berlin, located in the middle of the Soviet sector, was also divided into four sectors.
In 1949, the western sectors became West Germany (Federal Republic of Germany) and the eastern part became the GDR (German Democratic Republic). Berlin, despite the vigilance of Russian became a favored transit point for the flight of East Germans to the West. In August 1961, the East Germans erected a wall between the eastern and western sectors of Berlin, ostensibly to avoid fascist contamination unofficially to stop leaks. This wall extension of the Iron Curtain that separated the Eastern bloc of Western countries, will last 28 years to a November evening in november 1989,a few months later, both parts of Germany re unified and Berlin again became the capital.
The Company Ihagee from West Berlin manufactured only one model, others are Japanese manufacturing. Thus, this TL 500 is a Petri, so nothing to do in any point with the other Exakta.
